Weekly Focus

As we grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ, we must focus each day on His kingdom and spend time in His word, We must meditate on those things that create in us the fruits of God’s spirit so that His light will shine through us. We are to live our lives as examples for others to see Christ through us; not as the Pharisees, but by every living word of God as so demonstrated by our elder brother, Jesus The Christ.

I will seek YOU

with my whole heart! (Psalm 119:10)

This week’s focus

I Peter 4:8 - Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. (NIV)

How beautiful are these words, for “love covers a multitude of sins.”  Our Father first showed us this love (agape) when He gave His only Begotten Son that we might have life (I John 4:9).  We are so undeserving, yet Yeshua (Christ) sacrificed Himself for us.  Hallelujah! What a wonderful opportunity we have.  I Peter remind us to love “love deeply”.  As fleshly beings we sometimes find or better yet make this such a difficult feat.  We grumble and complain, and are quick to find fault in others. Instead of finding fault in one another we each need to find ways to help one another.

I life, we are instructed (asked) to do two things while we tarry on earth: 1) Love God with ALL your heart, soul and mind; and to 2) LOVE your neighbor as yourself (Matt 22:37-40).  For if we do these things, all else will fall into place.  Our Father gives us free will and yet He asks so little of us.  So as we continue to examine ourselves daily, let each of us search deep within ourselves for the leaven that keeps us from loving so deeply that it hinders us from doing that which we are instructed to do (I John 4:19 & I John 4:16)

In other words, find what it is that you can do to ensure that you love one another (John 15:17) without fear of sharing your time, your talents and YOU with your brethren. In this fleshly body, we must spend time with one another building bonds and bridges that are held together by the foundation of LOVE. This is the rock that Christ built His church on, the bond of LOVE as that between He and the Father. For His prayer is that we (the Church) become ONE as He and His Father are ONE (John 17:21). Then, nothing can separate us from the love of God (Rom 8:38-39).

I Peter 4:8 - 9 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 9 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. (NIV)
